I have finally bit the bullet and transisitioned my blog to another platform. All the old posts have been moved to www.wdawe.com. I will delete them from Yahoo 360 over the next few while to prevent the search engines from getting confused. Yahoo's abandonment of Yahoo 360 is the last straw. Saying you are going to transistion to a new platform is fine, but not continuing to support your current users in the meantime is unacceptable.Friday January 18, 2008 - 02:45pm (EST) Permanent Link | 0 Comments

While Googling for information about Yahoo 360 problems I came across the news that Yahoo announced back in October that they were going to shut down 360. What they actually said was "we intend to transition Yahoo! 360 to a more integrated Yahoo! experience in early 2008."
Thanks for communicating this to your users Yahoo. In the interim they aren't fixing any bugs which explains why I'm having so much trouble posting and editing articles. My plan is to transition my blog to a more reliable user experience very, very soon. I'm not prepared to put up with another buggy product that never makes it out of beta. I remember the debacle that was Yahoo TV when it transitioned to a more integrated Yahoo experience. It took three tries to post the previous posting. It's a good thing I copied the text before posting otherwise I would have had to rewrite it third time. I wanted to add these comments to that post but every time I tried to edit it after I finally got it posted the article came up blank so I had to write another posting. - Yahoo 360 strangeness

I posted my previous blog entry before spell checking it to prevent it from disappearing as has happened with Yahoo 360 in the past. The strange thing is that when I clicked the edit button it brought up a blank article. I was worried that Yahoo had yet again lost a blog posting because when I went to my blog the posting wasn't there. But then it reappeared. I just tried again and this time I can edit it. I think that Yahoo 360 may be having trouble propogating posting across their server farm, I refreshed the article disappeared, I refreshed again it reappeared. After posting it this article disappeared too.
I'm waiting to hear from my wife if Longo's in Vaughan sells wine because she is going there to buy cheese anyways. If it does I am freed from my wine buying duties.
