Wow... it's been a busy time since the holidays ended. I managed to get the Barbie piece down and recently completed another design with some matching details for the same recipient. Once they are completed into a wall hanging and a pillow I"ll be sure to photograph and share.

Some of you may have already read our latest newsletter. It's taken a year but we finally got back on track and got another one out. Already it's generated some interest from a new project that I was introduced to by a stitcher, Anne Bernstien, who contacted me for permission to use one of our designs for the Comfort Doll Project. Once I read up on it I was thrilled and honoured that one of our designs was one she'd choosen to use for this project. The design, a flower fairy, was a complimentary chart available thru Wichelt Imports but will again be available in the future with some more flower fairies.

Read for more info..

http://comfortdolls.blogspot.com/2008/01/exciting-news.html

http://gatherings100.blogspot.com/2008/01/too-excited-not-to-share.html

scroll down for another article

http://comfortdolls.blogspot.com/2008/01/three-comfort-dolls-from-annie-berst...

I look forward to joining in on the fun of creating these dolls. Hopefully we'll find someone to pick up the torch for Canada as I truly don't have the time though I wish I did!

I'll be keeping in touch more so keep coming back for more info!

Things are moving right along with this Barbie piece... the left side can't be seen in the pic but the side is the same as the right and is done down to the level that's done of the hand.

My finger tips are sore as I've been using a sewing method to speed things up for the large single colour areas. But when I remember I use the leather thimble I have and that helps a huge bunch!

I'm confident that I'll get this finished in time for Christmas... next piece is a matching piece that will go to the same little girl from her grandmother for her birthday.. unless she gives it to her for Christmas as it'll be done.. LOL.. It'll be a pillow while this one is a wallhanging.

Watch on Patternsonline.com as we have some new designs available thru them next week and will shortly have some new designs on the website too.

Well it's taken me three days but here is the first scan of the Barbie piece that I'm working on.. as you can see I just took it off the hoop and scanned away so the ring marks are still visible until the end of the stitching... wish me luck folks!

Wow.. it's been so long since I posted. Summer went well... as many may know I do a great amount of gardening and then there's harvesting and canning and perserving for our winter food. All but the pumpkins, which are still not quite ripe, is done. The pantry is full and the Chrisco Hampers are due in on the 22nd so the freezer will be full too.

So it's designing and stitching time!

At the moment I'm working on stitching up a piece that I designed for a Christmas gift.. it's Barbie so I can't release it of course, however I can share my progress. So later today or tomorrow, I hope!, I will go get the piece and do a scan to show how things are going. It's not a detailed piece as it's for an 8 year old, however as it's planned for a wallhanging piece it is on the large size. So I'm praying I can get enough hours in to get it completed in time to send to ON to arrive in time for the big day. Wish me luck!

On the PGD side. I've been working on some snowmen designs, on the designing stage at the moment but things are loking up there. So keep watch for them!

Now time for me to get back to work :)

It is with pride that I have stitched up both the Canadian and the USA stitching hearts designed by my best friend.. Turtle!!

I love the way they both came out and soo look forward to more of her designs... they truly are fun to stitch.

I'm currently doing the finishing touches to Dragon Chef #3... they do seem to be enjoyed by many stitchers.

I've been busy with gardening, designing, stitching and getting ready for the next school year. My DS is now ready and eager to learn so I'm creating a curriculum just for him and looking for all the resources I can now while I'm not full swing into the teaching days that will be fast upon me. Sept will prove to be an extremely busy month wait with the finishing of harvesting and canning with shcooling underway.

I look forward to the new challenges ahead of me and I know that the Lord will be with me all the way. I truly believe my decision to home homeschool was an inspired one!

Well on with making pizza rolls and I think I'll begin a chicken vegetable soup as well.. I just love 'em the second day around!.. LOL

Today marks the start of a new life! My oldest has moved out and me and the little one can feel relaxed. There was so much tension in the house you could cut it with a knife when my oldest walked in the door. Don't get me wrong.. he's basicly a good kid. Just wasn't getting it that you can't always have everything you want. He was nasty to his little brother and totally disrespectful of me. So out it was for him.

I got real busy for a while there and though I do have this room that is now in need of repair and a coat of new paint I plan to get back into some designing. I have but a few backstitches remaining on the EMS baby angel I'm working on for Angel Quilt Poject - Canada Division and then I will be working on one of our own Turtle designs.

I look forward to getting things up to date and working on designing again!

I have been keeping so busy of late with the stitching of some towels for my cousin and her friend and other things that I've not had time to get to the computer much. Only a moment now but wanted to stop and say "Hi!"

Our new angels are now on Patternsonline and doing well from what I can see... I'm currently working on a panel for AQP during the moments I have time to stitch, then I will be working on a design by Frishawn, our own Turtle, that is an Easter theme... I'm looking forward to finally getting it into stitches.

:)
